I had initially purchased a vehicle from the Du Fresne's lot from Preston Fowler the manager of Du Fresne's. Assured by Preston that Du Fresne has kept up all maintenance and the vehicle could go cross country if need be without any issues , I felt confident that the vehicle was sound. Unfortunately a day later the alternator on the vehicle died. Being a AAA member myself and Du Fresne's being a AAA certified shop I immediately called the tow company to have the vehicle towed to the shop. Preston gave all sorts of excuses trying to even blame me for the issues. After much back and forth Dufresne's agreed to replace the alternator at no cost to me. Great I'm thinking, until two months later the "new" alternator dies again leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I immediately called Du Fresnes and spoke with several people regarding the issue including Preston. Preston, not remembering he gave me a Du Fresne's invoice tried to lie by saying to me that the work wasn't done there. When he realized that in fact I have a Du Fresnes invoice for the alternator he then recommended that I call NAPA to get a refund - in which I did - but being that the car broke down in Mexico I did not qualify for the refund of nearly $400 I paid to have the vehicle towed and fixed. Upon learning this , I called Du Fresne's to let them know of the situation. Here I was greeted by a very aggressive Preston Fuller spinning the story and trying to avoid responsibility. His spin is that I bought a "part" from him and that since he didn't charge for the service the shop is not responsible. Well AAA begs to differ. The owner Nancy and other staff have also been trying to avoid responsibility. AAA is investigating the shop along with Preston Fuller. I'd be very careful using this shop and or working with Preston Fuller and his team. There is no integrity here. As you can see in the owner's reply, they are avoiding at all costs. No integrity here. I will be following up with AAA and the BBB as businesses like this need to be held accountable.
