This is the worst experience i ever had, and more than happy to share loud. My experience with Du Fresne's was always get estimation first before making the decision. My latest experience was in Nov. 2021 when i need to replace rear brakes of my car. I got general estimation via phone and drop my car, final cost is almost identically aligned. Knowing my front brake pads only have 30% left. I asked how much cost to replace the front one before left the shop. The answer was "SAME"; On 1/19/2022, i called asking for estimation of replace the front brakes, the answer was "no estimation until see the car". With the experience less than 2 months ago, i dropped the car. Later in the afternoon, the shop called with 33% price increase in comparing with the quote i had 2 months ago. I shared the whole story and frustration of the surprise! The decided to decline the service. When i picked up the car, i have to pay another $34 for them to check the car because they failed to provide the estimation even they had the record 2 months ago. This not the normal practice i had with them in the past. This is not the practice i in the industry. I actually called other auto shop, with the details of basic car information, they could provide comfortable estimation. As the customer, this shop is taking advantage of their existing customers. They are not doing job to provide their professional expertise. And in fact, they are charging customer for their estimation. I would continue to share my experience loud, particularly to their existing customers. Be careful to be trapped to their game!
